Logistics/Service Format/Finances

Preparations and Logistics

Approximately 12 weeks prior to the team's arrival, the Team Director will contact you regarding the logistical needs of the team.

Housing – We request that single team members be housed in church members' homes and team leadership be allowed to park their travel trailers on the church property. A Housing Coordinator's Guideline will be available.

Meals – The team will need lunch and supper on weekdays when services are in session. Other meals will be provided in the host homes. A Meal Coordinator's Guideline will be available.

Loaner vehicles – We ask that church members loan the team several vehicles in order to relieve host families from daily driving team members to and from the church. We request that the church to cover the cost of fuel for team members’ transportation back and forth from the church to their host homes each day. Life Action will pay for any other usage of the vehicles loaned to the team. A log will be kept in the cars to keep track of mileage during the conference. A Transportation Guideline will be available.

Team Arrival – The team will arrive at the church on Friday night (generally between 3:00 and 5:00 PM), meet their host families (7:30 PM), and go to their host homes. They need to arrive back at the church on Saturday around 10:00 AM. They will spend the day moving equipment in, setting up rooms, and rehearsing. They will eat lunch at the church and return to their host homes around 4:00 PM. The loaner vehicles will need to be available on Saturday.

Typically, the revivalist and Team Director will meet with the pastor at 11:00 Saturday morning to discuss the Sunday morning service.

Service Format

There are 6 service times during this 4-day period (2 on Sunday morning, 1 on Sunday evening, and 1 each on Monday through Wednesday evenings). A Thirst conference is designed to provide optimum ministry to your people ages 4 and up. The church will need to arrange nursery for children 0-3 years old.

The children are divided up into the following groups:

Happy Heart City – Children 4 year olds through 1st grade will enter Happy Heart City, where teachers and various characters will teach that “Obedience Is the Key.” They will learn the Ten Commandments through drama and motions, as well as enjoy creative lessons, crafts, songs, and activities full of substantial biblical content.

Base Camp – A unique experience for 2nd-6th graders, foundational character principles and Scripture will be presented through music, drama, interactive lessons, and activities. Upon entrance they will become “climbers” who will be trained to pursue the ultimate adventure of knowing God and loving Him each day.

Awake – Our youth ministry aims to ignite a generation of young people by seeing the dead raised, the sleeping revived, and the passionate refreshed. Specialized sessions that complement the main sessions will help teens think about how Jesus' teachings apply to their daily lives. Our passion is to see teenagers awake and start a movement that will change the course of this world for God's glory.

Adults – All adults meet in the main sanctuary to receive practical instruction relating to personal and family dynamics.

Sunday Morning Service – We plan for a unified service in the sanctuary that begins with the sunday school hour and continues with the regular worship service. Adults and teens will begin together; after a time of corporate worship, the teens will be dismissed to a separate location with our youth leader. The team revivalist will follow with a time of prayer and the message. Typically, the children will begin in their separate locations with our team members.

Sunday Evening and Weeknight Services –During evening services, everyone 4 years and older will begin in the sanctuary. After announcements, introductions, and a time of corporate worship, the children and teens will be dismissed to their separate locations, and the team revivalist will bring the message.

Pastoral Involvement – The pastor will have complete freedom to address the congregation at any time God leads him to do so. Additionally, opportunity will be provided in each service for him to welcome the people, give announcements, lead in prayer, collect an offering, or anything else he feels is appropriate.

Seminars and Special Meetings

Ladies Luncheon – Our team usually hosts a ladies' luncheon on Tuesday from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM led by the revivalist's wife. This provides ladies an opportunity for encouragement, personal sharing, and praying together for revival. The Team Director will discuss options for this time with you prior to the conference.

Staff Meetings – We request two separate staff meetings during the conference. Our team leadership would like to meet with your staff on Tuesday and Wednesday from 11:00 AM to noon. The purpose for these meetings is to share prayer needs, discuss ministry, and address logistical concerns.

Financial Considerations

Ministry Financial Philosophy – Life Action is a faith-based ministry; we trust the Lord to meet our needs through God's people without utilizing pressure or fundraising tactics. We seek to live by faith and minister with integrity as it relates to finances. Like the apostle Paul, we serve with the attitude of not desiring a gift, but desiring "fruit that may abound to your account" (Phil. 4:17).

We believe that:

  • It is our responsibility, as God leads, to inform God’s people of our needs.
  • It is God’s responsibility to prompt believers to give.
  • It is the responsibility of God’s people to respond in obedience to His prompting and to develop a lifestyle of Christlike, scriptural giving.

Conference Expenses – A non-refundable fee of $3,250 is due when a conference is confirmed for your church: $1,500 is to be sent in with a signed covenant; the remaining $1,750 is due two weeks before the team arrives.

Conference Love Gifts – As a result of our philosophy of "living by faith," we ask that you allow us to place a Love Gift Box in the foyer or a room near the sanctuary. Offering plates will not be passed for Life Action Ministries during the conference.

Life Action team and staff members do not receive the offerings given through the Love Gift Box. The funds received go toward offsetting the team's operating expenses. There is no minimum amount you are required to guarantee us in the love offering. We trust God to meet the balance of our travel and operating expenses through the gifts of His people.
