Ministry Prayer Calendar

“During the spring of 1904, a young Welshman named Evan Roberts was repeatedly awakened at 1:00 a.m. He met with God until 5:00 a.m. The Welsh revival followed.”
- Oliver W. Price

1
On this first day of the week as well as of this new year, plead with God to reign as the first authority in the hearts of His people. Pray for revival in 2012!

2 Twenty-eight families left for home yesterday following the Life Action Camp’s Resolution retreat with Tom Harmon. Pray that God’s Spirit continues to powerfully work in the hearts of all who came.

3 Pray for our staff revivalists and their families as they prepare for this year’s ministry to thousands of individuals nationwide: Steve and Debby Canfield (Blue Team), Laine and Janet Johnson (Red Team), and Ryan and Maryann Loveing (Revival Conference Team).

4 Cover our family seminar instructors and their families today with your prayers as they prepare to minister to hundreds of families these next twelve months: Jeremiah and Stephanie Canfield (Blue Team), Wilson and Laura Green (Red Team), and Ben and Jennifer Slenk (Revival Conference Team).

5 It’s not too early—please start saturating this September’s True Woman ’12 Conference in prayer, asking God to draw women from all walks of life to gather in Indianapolis for an outpouring
of God’s redeeming and renewing work.

6 The Revival Conference Team has three 8-day summits scheduled in the West in February and March. Pray as our pre-summit staff minister soon to the congregations of Trinity Southern Baptist Church in Casa Grande, Arizona; Calvary Baptist Church in Show Low, Arizona; and Reno Christian Fellowship in Reno, Nevada.

7 Ryan Loveing, Ben Slenk, and the Revival Conference Team open an 8-day summit tomorrow at First Baptist Church in Bay City, Texas. Pray for God to draw the congregation to whole-hearted obedience to His truth.

8 Today, Steve Canfield, Jeremiah Canfield, and the Blue Team begin their first 15-day summit of the calendar year at Ellendale Baptist Church in Bartlett, Tennessee. Stand with them in prayer, asking God to produce genuine repentance, revival, and redemption in this place by His Spirit.

9 Yesterday, Laine Johnson, Wilson Green, and the Red Team began their 11-day summit at Cook Baptist Church in Ruston, Louisiana. Pray for a mighty move of God’s Spirit here.

10 As Nancy Leigh DeMoss edits the manuscript for her new daily devotional book The Quiet Place, pray that her focus will be centered on Christ and that the task before her will progress well.

11 Thank God with us for the amazing, life-changing works He accomplished in Indianapolis during the packed-out revive ’11 women’s ministry leaders’ conference this past November, hosted by Revive Our Hearts.

12 Praise our mighty God for the changes He has made for eternity in so many lives and families through the Life Action Camp outreaches these past three months, through family camps, men’s retreats, father/son retreats, and more.

13 Sing and speak praise to God for His evident hand on Collegiate Impact’s Ignition retreat this past fall at Bethel College in Mishawaka, Indiana. Pray that the work He accomplished will go deeper and broader this semester.

14 This weekend, Byron Paulus leads pre-summit ministry at First Baptist Church in Oxford, Mississippi. Pray that God will ignite a desire in hearts to be authentic Christ-followers.

15 Pray for those who transcribe the Revive Our Hearts radio programs into print for the website. Pray that the work will be accurate and timely, and that many women will visit the page to be encouraged and challenged.

16 Praise God for Dave Warn’s ministry trip to Brown University in December. Pray for insight as Collegiate Impact and Brown University ministries consider partnering to seek God for campus transformation.

17 Next month, Life Action helps launch the OneCry initiative, calling leaders and individuals to urgent, intercessory prayer for revival in our nation. Pray for the leaders who are coming alongside in this cause: Darryl Craft, Dave Butts, James Pool, Dan Jarvis, and Bill Elliff.

18 OneCry is holding its first leaders’ conference today at Faith Baptist Church in Bartlett, Tennessee. Pray for God’s presence among us as we share this vision in the Memphis area.

20 Pray for pre-summit staff serving this weekend at Mt. Harmony Baptist Church in Knoxville, Tennessee (for the Red Team). Ask God to prepare this congregation for radical obedience.

22 The Red Team begins an 11-day summit today at Westside Baptist Church in El Dorado, Arkansas. Pray for a genuine, overwhelming outpouring of God’s Spirit on this congregation.

23 Pray for safety, equipment efficiency, and timely progress as The Camp staff performs ongoing and seasonal maintenance on grounds and buildings.

24 Lift our staff at The Lodge to God’s throne of grace, asking Him to refresh them during this time of rest before they begin this year’s schedule of serving pastors and leaders
in retreats.

25 Matt Messer, from Clifton, Tennessee, and Ben and Mallory Cabe, from South Bend, Indiana, appreciate your prayers as they continue raising their teams of ministry partners, which will allow them to join our staff full time.

26 Liza Hartman, from Waddy, Kentucky, has recently joined our iMedia staff. Pray for her as she settles into her new responsibilities.

27 Life Action hosts a Forum on Revival today during the Jacksonville Pastors’ Conference. Byron Paulus will emcee the panel, made up of Jim Cymbala, Erwin Lutzer, Michael Catt, and Bill Elliff. They will be introducing the OneCry initiative. Ask God to unite these leaders in the hope of God’s reviving presence.

28 Lift up the OneCry intercession team (Dave Butts and James Pool), leading the first OneCry prayer conference near Orlando, Florida. Ask God to meet with these men in a unique and fresh way as they cry out to Him. Pray that He will raise up more intercessors to seek Him for nationwide spiritual awakening.

29 Pray for the Revival Conference Team as they begin a 4-day THIRST conference today at Kelview Heights Baptist Church in Midland, Texas. Pray that God will give the congregation a greater thirst for His presence and power.

30 The Blue Team is at Longview Baptist Church in Olive Branch, Mississippi, for five days of follow-up ministry. Ask God to direct the leaders in the best use of these days.

31 Ask God to give great wisdom to the writing and editorial staff of Revive magazine, Life Action’s primary periodical, impressing on their hearts the themes, resources, and people He desires to use in each issue. Pray that many will be reached and changed by the truths presented.

Live

You just never know what God is going to use to change someone’s life. Tony Rossi didn’t know. As a little boy growing up in Italy, his nickname was Rascal. Even surviving an earthquake didn’t slow down his mischievous streak.

As he grew into adulthood, he turned his boundless energy into working and saving money to come to America. He came to the States after World War I, worked various jobs in New York City, and then decided to move to Florida to grow tomatoes. So he went to the public library to research tomato horticulture.

When Tony sat down to study, he noticed that someone had left The Life of Christ open on a library table. He pulled the book toward himself, began to read ... and read for the entire day! The next day he returned, found a Bible on a shelf, and began reading from the beginning. He was overjoyed when, after skipping several sections, he arrived at the New Testament and learned from the Source what Christ did for him. In that silent library, Tony bowed his head and gave his life to the Lord.

Anthony T. Rossi would go on to prosper in business, starting an orange juice company called Tropicana, designing innovative juicing equipment, providing Bibles on tape for the blind, starting Bible studies and Bible conferences (on his vacation time) in Italy, and building a village for retired missionaries in Florida.

Don’t despise the “day of small things” (Zech. 4:10). Be faithful in little things today, and see how the Master uses even the least of all, the seemingly inconsequential, to change lives.

Give

The widow’s mite, the boy’s lunch, the shepherd’s stone, the lost lamb, the lost coin, one leper, one degree of the sundial, a red cord, a lump of clay mixed with spittle ... the list could go on and on. Things that could easily be overlooked in this world turn up in Scripture as a key component in a narrative, a rescue, a lesson learned.

The items mentioned are everyday and ordinary, especially centuries ago in the land of Israel. What made them extraordinary was the way they were used in the Master’s plan at a given moment in history. We only know about them because God highlights them for us.

Nothing is too small, too insignificant, too lowly, too temporal—and that goes for His gifts to us as well. Never think that what you have to give cannot accomplish anything of worth.

Give in proportion to how God has blessed you, in obedience to how He is directing you, in faith believing Him for how He will use your gift miraculously. Ask Him to do that very thing. Don’t hold back.

The Sunday School teacher who witnessed to D. L. Moody felt that he had really botched his presentation of the gospel, but God mightily used the words he shared and exponentially multiplied the salvation of thousands through that one soul he reached.

Give from what is in your hand. Trust God to multiply it in ways you never dreamed possible!
