Collegiate Day of Prayer

What would happen if our nation stopped to seek God on behalf of its 18.2 million college students? What would happen if we cried out to God together for the next generation?

Believe it or not, over a 100-year time span, our nation reserved a special day each year to do this very thing. The Collegiate Day of Prayer has been reestablished in order to give the body of Christ an opportunity to pray for its colleges and universities. Last February, we became aware of over 700 campuses and churches who joined us to pray. This year we are ...

Could It Be This Year?

Everyone experiences certain excitement when the New Year rolls around. Some wonder what new and wonderful things it may bring, while others simply have hope that this year will be better than the last.

In a revival ministry, one’s New Year excitement culminates in one question: Could it be this year? This question refers to the manifest presence of God falling on our nation, and this summit is certainly a promising start to a year of hoped-for revival.

Perhaps the first thing to recognize about the summit is the responsiveness the people demonstrated throughout the course of the two ...

I Can’t. It Is Not In Me.

The following is adapted from one of the weekly memos that Byron sends to approximately 200+ staff and their families.
This morning, I feel compelled to share a simple truth that the Lord is using in my own heart right now. It comes right from the Scriptures, in Genesis 41:15-16. As a child, the phrase "I can't" was taboo. My parents' intent was admirable. They simply wanted me to tackle difficult tasks, hoping the net result would be self-confidence. In the Scriptures, if anyone should have had self-confidence, it was Joseph. He successfully interpreted four dreams. As far ...

Check Out This Perfection. See It and Believe It!

“Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith” (Hebrews 12:2).

Your vision can be your potential or a problem. For example, when you’re driving, there are some basic principles to follow. For starters, look in the direction you want to go—because you’ll steer toward your gaze. If you look at something by the side of the road, you’ll veer that direction. (That can be a problem!)

As I previously shared
, I was veering off the narrow road, away from The Way, toward a mirage of the perfect woman. I ...

One Month Until OneCry

On February 24, 2012, OneCry will spring to life!

Exactly what that means is, in part, up to you. For many of us on the OneCry team, preparing for this movement has caused us to evaluate our own thirst for God, our own time spent in prayer, and our own passion for personal revival.

The name OneCry means a lot to us: One represents the unity we pray will define this generation of Christians; unity around a passion for God’s presence and fervent revival prayer. We believe we must set aside our differences to rally around Christ, His Word ...

So You Want to Be Perfect? Then Stop Striving, and Look!

Do you know what’s disconcerting? When you realize you’ve been looking for something that doesn’t exist. That’s where I found myself on the morning of New Year’s Day. The day before, I heard this intriguing question: “What is your vision for your life?” What should it be? I pondered. Verses started racing through my mind. Hmm ... I think I know ... and I don’t think that’s my vision. I need to examine this. So I did. And do you know what I discovered? My vision was to be the perfect wife, the perfect mom ...

Same Church, Different People

The podium of the small church nestled in the suburbs served as a symbol of spiritual triumph on Tuesday evening, as members of the congregation stood and testified to the transforming power of the Holy Spirit. Life Action's Red Team headed up the two-week long summit, and one of the team members, reflecting on Tuesday's service, commented, "God is faithful to finish the work He has begun. What a privilege to be able to see Him changing lives!"

One woman at the pulpit noted that she had attended a conference held by Life Action twenty years earlier, and ...

The Change of a Servant

"What do you want to be when you grow up?" From a very young age, we are encouraged to dream about what we want to be someday. I had all sorts of noble aspirations, but there's one that never crossed my childish mind. Yet it's one God encourages His children to be: a servant.

"You also, when you have done everything you were told to do, should say, 'We are unworthy servants; we have only done our duty'" (Luke 17:10 NIV). Our lives should be summed up by God, "Well done, good and faithful servant!" (Matthew 25 ...

The Movement

Life can get boring. If you view your days as merely the small cycle of work, home, and play, without the wildly expansive element of ministry, there comes a point where it loses its appeal. We are eternal creatures, made for eternal purposes. C. S. Lewis said that if you could see the person next to you as they will appear in eternity (a creature so hideous you would hide your face, or so magnificent you would think they were a god to be worshiped), it would change the way you live. "There are no ordinary people," Lewis said. In ...

Can Prayer Save America?

We need the reviving power of Jesus Christ, a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit. We need to humble ourselves and pray.

We would like to invite you to join with us and other like-minded believers January 27–28 in Deltona, FL, to be inspired, challenged, and equipped to pray more effectively for yourself, your church, and our nation.

OneCry is a nationwide call for spiritual awakening. It’s a cry to the Lord to manifest His glory and to work with extraordinary power. And it’s a call to the church to pray, to seek God’s face, and ...

God, Anoint the Travelers!

As our teams begin to travel this year, they need your prayers. Please pray that each team member will be freshly burdened and prepared to share the message of revival. Ask God to give each team member clear direction as to whether or not he/she should travel again in the fall. And pray for fresh anointing on each team member as they minister.

We look forward to seeing how God will work in the next few months, and we're grateful for how He has worked in the last few. Here are a few of the testimonies we've ...

Resolution . . . to Rest?!

Since when has resting been one of your New Year's Resolutions? At Resolution—a purposeful, fun, winter family retreat at the Life Action Camp—speaker Tom Harmon challenged 32 families to rest in God by resting in His gospel, goodness, and grace during the New Year. The families were challenged by and continued to talk about these concepts even after the sessions had ended. This is what some of them had to say about the weekend:

"God used this weekend to refocus our family on His Word. We made commitments to each other to become a better father, mother ...

A Fruitful Jericho Partnership

When a ministry partnership ends, that's usually not a good thing. But in this case, it is.

Collegiate Impact has officially ended their Jericho Partnership with Montana State University. This partnership produced much fruit. In fact, Mark Gauthier, National Director for Campus Ministry with Campus Crusade, said, "I know of no other campus closer to revival than Montana State University."

We believe that God used the Jericho Partnership to provide a spiritual breakthrough at MSU. Here is what some leaders and students have said over the past year about God's work there:

"Our staff women are not willing ...

January 2012 Prayer Calendar

“During the spring of 1904, a young Welshman named Evan Roberts was repeatedly awakened at 1:00 a.m. He met with God until 5:00 a.m. The Welsh revival followed.”
- Oliver W. Price

On this first day of the week as well as of this new year, plead with God to reign as the first authority in the hearts of His people. Pray for revival in 2012!
