From a Team Revivalist:
I sensed all day that I would not get to preach because of God's presence. We came to worship Him after the opening session, specifically asking the Lord to send His Holy Spirit. We wanted Him, and He came.
I already knew that I needed to ask if there was anyone who needed to testify, but the Lord even beat me to that. While everyone was still on stage, the housing director came and took a microphone out of the hand of a singer, and that led to the next hour and forty-five minutes of powerful confession, testimony, and prayer.
Below is what a team member wrote while God was still working. I got home at about 9:40, and there were still twenty people in the auditorium.
We are still in service as I type this. God is at work! At the end of the congregational set of songs, before the team sang their last song, one of the church members came up and grabbed the microphone from one of our singers, confessing sin in her life that affected the congregation.
A second was close behind her, closing her testimony with, "I don't want revival to be hindered because I wasn't willing to be obedient and come up here to confess."
After that, several men came up, confessing (among other things) not being the spiritual leaders in their families.
- One of the deacons confessed an inconsistent prayer and devotional life. After taking the Complete Spiritual, he said he felt like "the chief of sinners."
- The former youth pastor confessed tarnishing Christ's name and the name of the church while not following what he was preaching/teaching.
- The pastor confessed caring more about man's approval than God's approval (and being Spirit-filled) while preparing and delivering sermons.
- The music leader confessed a specific instance of anger toward the church, not being a good husband, and being too busy in ministry, and he asked forgiveness of the church.
- A deacon who has been here 26 years confessed going through the motions while not being right with God. Even though he had godly parents and has been in church all of his life, he doesn't really know in his heart whether he is saved. He said he was sorry for not being on the inside what he looks like on the outside.
People are praying ... God is working. Lord, send Your cleansing work!
