“Come, let us return to the Lord; for he has torn us, that he may heal us; he has struck us down, and he will bind us up. After two days he will revive us; on the third day he will raise us up, that we may live before him. Let us know; let us press on to know the Lord.”
— Hosea 6:1-3a
1 Family Camps are in full swing at the Life Action Camp. Cover our Camp staff in prayer as they put in long, productive days ministering to grandparents, parents, teens, and young children.
2 Nancy Leigh DeMoss takes on multiple writing projects, in addition to Revive Our Hearts radio broadcasts, all aimed at helping women follow Christ faithfully. Pray that God’s Spirit will give her energy, wisdom, and clear direction from His Word as she writes.
3 The Revive Our Hearts staff asks you to pray for women around the world, that God would give them a hunger and thirst to know Him more, a longing for the beauty of true womanhood, and a desire to experience a movement of reformation and revival among Christian women.
4 Steve and Debby Canfield and Jeremiah and Stephanie Canfield challenge and encourage our Family Camp guests this week from God’s Word. Pray that deep, lasting ministry will take place.
5 Revive Our Hearts has just placed a new event on their calendar—True Woman revive ’11: for women serving women. Pray for the team that is working on marketing and promotional efforts, endeavoring to get the word out to as many churches and individuals as possible.
6 Revive Our Hearts is beginning to take reservations for True Woman ’12, which will be held in September 2012 in Indianapolis. Pray that many women will hear about and be interested in this event, and that they will register and attend.
7 It is the responsibility of Life Action’s staff to raise and maintain their own financial and prayer support. Pray that God will provide relationships and resources that will help our staff be well supplied.
8 Ask the Lord to encourage the couples now attending our Partner Appreciation Weekend at The Lodge. Pray that they will be spiritually refreshed and gain fresh vision for all that God wants.
9 We are asking God to provide $250,000 this summer so that we can replace aging vehicles and upgrade old equipment on our three road teams before they head out in September.
10 At the end of August, Life Action will celebrate 40 years of ministry, and we’ve asked our many alumni to join us for this time. Pray that none will be missed in the invitation and that many will attend.
11 Jimmy Herdklotz welcomes the opportunity to open God’s Word to our Family Camp guests this week. Pray for him and Lori as they minister truth to open hearts.
12 The Accounting Department has begun Life Action Ministries’ annual audit, which is always contracted to an outside firm. Pray for discernment, a thorough review, and honest reporting by all involved.
13 These are financially challenging times for many, but several of our staff families are facing significant needs due to medical emergencies or loss of support. Please join us in seeking our Provider to meet each need and in praising Him for each blessing and answered prayer.
14 Collegiate Impact is preparing for further ministry opportunities in a few weeks. Pray for refreshing, spiritual recharging, and good family times during July for the Warns and Bullards.
15 Cover our publications in prayer today, asking God’s Spirit to cause the truth that is written to be convicting and compelling to its readers.
16 When the schedule allows, Christian leaders from other ministries make use of The Lodge for private times of refreshing and spiritual renewal. Pray for even greater ministry opportunities to grow out of interaction between these leaders and our staff.
17 A retreat for pastors and their wives begins tomorrow at The Lodge and continues through Friday. Cover these faithful couples in prayer, asking God to make this time refreshing and spiritually profitable.
18 Trent and Andrea Griffith have the privilege of ministering to our Family Camp guests this week. Ask God to give insight and direction as they seek to meet spiritual needs with truth.
19 New team members for the coming travel year arrive at the Camp at the end of this month. Pray for safety as they travel here, and that God’s deep purposes for their lives and our teams will be accomplished as they join us.
20 It is not unusual for some team members to realize, through the ministry of their summer Staff Training speakers, that they have never genuinely become God’s child through salvation. Pray that God’s Spirit will open hearts to His truth in this area.
21 Revive Our Hearts continues to work on a new recording studio at our National Ministry Center. Pray for God’s timely provision for every aspect of this project.
22 Pray for God’s direction in the development of Revive Our Hearts’ radio broadcast in Spanish.
23 Lindsay Swartz has recently accepted the call to join the staff of Revive Our Hearts. She is in the process of developing her financial support team. Pray for the Lord’s provision as she walks through this stage.
24 Our Road Team Leadership will meet Tuesday through Thursday, seeking the Lord for wisdom and discernment. Ask the Lord to encourage them, preparing them to more effectively proclaim the message of revival to our nation this coming travel year.
25 Mark Vroegop opens the Word of God to our Family Camp guests this week. Pray for him and Sarah as they remain available to minister wherever needed during these important days.
26 Nancy Leigh DeMoss joins Gracia Burnham to minister at the Women’s Summer BreakAway at Maranatha Bible Camp in Muskegon, Michigan. Pray that God would use their lives and words to ignite a burning desire for Him alone.
27 Continue to cover our Road Team Leadership with your prayers as they meet, seeking God’s presence and clear direction.
28 Praise God with us for His supernatural work in a summit this past spring in Charleston, Tennessee. The meetings continued into extra weeks, and many in the church volunteered to form testimony teams to share with area churches God’s power and work in their congregation.
29 Several have recently expressed interest in joining our ministry, and some have submitted applications. Our Staff Services Department need wisdom and discernment as they follow the Lord’s leading on behalf of these people.
30 Our annual Revival Week begins soon at the Camp. Pray that our hearts will be well prepared for these days when our entire staff joins to seek God’s presence and power for ministry.
31 This year’s new team members arrive at the Camp today to begin Staff Training. Pray for the musicians, children’s ministers, technicians, schoolteachers, and other support staff as they learn their new responsibilities.
Live
Across generations, God has brought great blessing to many, through those who carried a vision for His glory. As they went about the necessary tasks of their day-to-day lives, a picture lived in their minds and hearts of what life could be if God would make His presence and power known in their times.
David envisioned Israel ruled by heaven’s King, free from the tyranny of Philistia. Mordecai understood that Esther was a key character in protecting the people through whom the Messiah would come. Anna and Simeon looked diligently for that Messiah, who would rule in the name of Jehovah.
God also has brought nationwide revival and spiritual refreshing through two elderly sisters who prayed (Monmouthshire, Wales), a lay minister who started a noon prayer meeting in New York City (Jeremiah Lanphier), a shoe salesman who became an evangelist (D. L. Moody), and a 26-year-old in Wales who
allowed God to “bend” him (Evan Roberts).
Do we have a vision for revival in our times? Do we expect God to do something great and worthy of His character? Do we believe that God will work here? Are we content to live our lives without seeing His glory in our life, our home, our church, our town, our nation?
Oh, Mighty God, give us a vision for an outpouring of spiritual revival and awakening that will open the eyes of multitudes to Your holiness, Your glory, Your purposes, and Your gracious sovereignty!
Give
Vital to the cause of revival are those who personally open God’s Word before men, women, and children, showing them their need for His forgiveness and the importance of living in His presence. Some reach out through radio or correspondence or by means of discipling others over the Internet or through sharing music.
Those who “go” need the support of those who “stay by the stuff” (1 Samuel 30:24), managing, maintaining, and making sure communication networks function well between all parts of the team. Others spend hours praying. Some account for incoming and outgoing finances, mow lawns, feed guests, counsel, care for children, design graphics, and ship books and recordings.
Another service which allows the whole team to meet their objectives comes from those who give their personal resources to keep everything in motion—to build a recording studio, purchase and repair vehicles, provide team clothing, underwrite Staff Training, cover office expenses, and allow our leadership times of interaction with leaders from other ministries.
Do you have a heart for revival? How is that expressed by your giving? Do you give of your life, your time, your earthly goods and finances? There are so many ways to be involved, but only a brief span of time to join in seeking the presence of God in this generation!
