This past week, pastors and their wives from Illinois to Alabama came to The Lodge for a time of refreshing and rest. After every pastors' retreat, we hear great testimonies of how God has used The Lodge ministry as a place of encouragement to leaders. We wanted to share with you a few of the testimonies we received from this past week of ministry.
This retreat has been a great time of rest and relaxation, and a wonderful time to focus on the Lord and each other. We've been encouraged by the new friendships. We really appreciate the openness and transparency of Ed and Gayle, investing into our lives, seeking to affirm and encourage us both.
(Pastor from Illinois)
God used this retreat to renew our spirits, our focus, and our passion for prayer and for His presence. Our marriage has been renewed spiritually. The friendships we built here will last well beyond this retreat time.
(Pastor from Mississippi)
This retreat reminded us of God's faithfulness by hearing others' stories. It refreshed our call to ministry, and the others inspired us to keep "running the race." Our bodies and spirits have been refreshed.
(Pastor from Ohio)
We have felt encouraged. We are so blessed at our church but just needed time away. We were encouraged as we met other couples desiring to serve the Lord with all their hearts. Ed and Gayle loved on us and made us feel as if we had known them forever. That's what God's family is all about—kindred hearts. This week will be a time I treasure for years to come.
(Pastor from Alabama)
This retreat was a great time of renewal and refreshment for us, and it gave me time to spend with my wife in an unhurried way. The laughter during the retreat was a great addition—great medicine for a hurting heart.
(Pastor from Illinois)
We needed encouragement very badly—just to get away from the problems of life. This retreat gave us opportunities to talk and to process things. We loved the retreat and plan on returning for a third time.
