Ministry Prayer Calendar

“I would rather teach one man to pray than ten men to preach.”
— Charles Haddon Spurgeon

1
Ryan Loveing and the Revival Conference Team minister through Wednesday at Salem Baptist Church in Apex, North Carolina. Ask God to work deeply during these days.

2 Steve Canfield, Jeremiah Canfield, and the Blue Team began a 15-day summit yesterday at Calvary Bible Church in Bourbonnais, Illinois. Pray for God's presence and power to deeply affect the congregation and leaders.

3
Murrill Boitnott, Wilson Green, and the Red Team conclude an 11-day summit tomorrow at First Baptist Church in Saltillo, Mississippi. Pray that the team and congregation would finish strong, obeying God's direction thoroughly.

4 Please join us in asking God to supply $180,000 for new semitrailers for our three road teams. Our current ones are very old and in great need of being replaced.

5 God has been working deeply in the hearts of many at Montana State University this spring. Collegiate Impact asks you to pray that staff, students, and campus ministry staff will keep responding to His work of revival and spiritual awakening, even over the summer break.

6 Collegiate Impact has had many ministry opportunities this spring. Ask God to help them end the school year well and begin September with strong outreach.

7 Elkview Baptist Church in Elkview, West Virginia, hosts Murrill Boitnott, Ben Slenk, and the Revival Conference Team for an 8-day summit. Ask God to give the leaders and the team great insight into the needs of the church, and be part of life-giving solutions.

8 Dan Puckett, Keith Boggs, and the Red Team minister in an 8-day summit at Bethel Baptist Church in Jackson, Michigan. Ask God to bring days of refreshing revival and genuine spiritual awakening.

9 Pray for Dennis Gaul and our Buildings and Grounds Department as they prepare for Life Action's 40th anniversary celebration this spring. We desire our grounds and facilities to make alumni and guests feel welcome and help set the atmosphere for continued revival in all our lives.

10 Gypsy Smith, a preacher of long ago, would draw a circle on the floor, step into it, and pray that God would send a revival that would begin in that circle. Pray that Life Action's teams, staff, and leadership would continually live the revival we are asking God to bring to our nation.

11 Many important videos on revival are posted on our website. Pray that many will find and view these vital messages, testimonies, and historical accounts.

12 Please pray for God's anointing on new and returning road team members as they finish raising support and preparing for the 2011-2012 travel year.

13 Pray for the men from Horizon Church of Indianapolis, Indiana, who are gathering at The Camp this weekend for a retreat. Ask God to meet the pressing needs in their lives.

14 Tony and Jenni Maples have almost finished raising their financial and prayer support to join our Road Team Services Department. Please pray for the quick sale of their home in Ohio and for a smooth transition to southern Michigan.

15 The Life Action Camp will be hosting several work groups to help prepare our grounds for summer family camps. Pray that they will accomplish much and that they would be ministered to by our camp staff.

16 Work begins soon on a staff house for one of our longtime revivalists. Pray that our building team will make wise decisions in the use of resources and finances on this project.

17 Yesterday, pastors and their wives gathered at The Lodge for a weeklong retreat. Pray that God will bring great refreshing and revival wherever needed during these special days.

18 Pray for Life Action's staff, that we would cheerfully exhibit a genuine servant's spirit daily, whatever task is before us.

19 Hannah Gaul is completing her accounting degree this month and will join our Accounting Department as a summer intern. Pray that this summer's experience will strengthen her in her field, and that God would continue giving her a heart for ministry.

24 Revive Our Hearts hosts women's ministry leaders for a "think tank" session, discussing ways to implement True Woman philosophy and help women live it out in their daily lives. The discussions will be taped tomorrow for future radio programs.

25 Pray that God will give great wisdom and clarity, covering all speech with His power as Nancy Leigh DeMoss and her special guests discuss biblical topics that drive the True Woman movement. Pray that their words will minister to millions of listeners who will hear these radio broadcasts in the future.

29 Our Accounting Department asks for your prayers as Life Action's fiscal year ends May 31. The annual audit will take place soon after, and the staff desires for all to be done with integrity and thorough accuracy, bringing honor to Christ.

30 We have senior staff members serving with our ministry today who began as college-age team members in Life Action's early years. Pray that God would give them opportunities to pass on their legacies of faithfulness, wisdom, and a heart for revival to coming generations.

Live

It's been said that you can tell if you have a servant's heart by how you respond when you're treated like a servant! Most of us don't mind serving someone else if the tasks are ones we enjoy doing anyway. It's when we're asked to serve in a way that is inconvenient, difficult, distasteful, or unprofitable that we would rather pass the duties on to someone else.

The example of our mighty yet humble Christ leads us on the path of servanthood. He washed the feet of His disciples, knowing He faced crucifixion in a matter of hours. Many churches in the Brethren denomination display the symbol of a bowl and towel on their church walls as a reminder of our calling to lovingly serve each other in the body of Christ.

During the wedding ceremony of one of our team members, the bride seated herself on a chair on the platform; her groom then removed her sandals and washed her feet, symbolizing his intent to serve her and meet her needs well in their new marriage.

In Matthew 20:27-28, Jesus made it clear that leaders must serve just as a bondservant would. His beauty shines as we serve in His name.

Give

The Pacific Garden Mission in Chicago was able to greatly improve their facilities recently. The well known architect who masterminded the new construction made the comment that he was tired of "building
castles" in the suburbs for modern day "princes and princesses" who were indulging their every whim. He wanted to use his gifts to help those who were serving others in distress. His soul longed to serve.

How, specifically, has God called you to serve others? We can serve through our words, our acts, our resources, our finances. It was not unusual for Christians in the early church to sell possessions, even property, to raise money to help meet the needs of those in distress.

Giving to those who make a career of serving others in Christ's name is another way to help. Purpose in your heart to choose the role of a bondservant, so that Jesus may be known.
