Ministry Updates

The kingdom of God grew a little larger this past Sunday, and for many of its citizens, Sunday was a day of spiritual healing. Souls were saved, lives were surrendered, and oppressive walls of bitterness torn down. It was certainly a blessed day at Grace Church.

We held two services Sunday morning. The first was an evangelistic service. Although evangelism is not a major focus of revival, since revival is for God's people, we clearly present the gospel on the second Sunday of every summit, and we pray that God will save souls.

All week long, we talk about what a Christian looks like. At some point, we feel it is important to ask, "Are you really a Christian?" Many then realized the painful truth that they had never been in Christ. Some had already received salvation but were not surrendered to Christ's rule in their lives.

Our second service is on the theme of bitterness, and the power that it has to bind us in chains if we are not careful to forgive. Bitterness is actually a prison for the bitter person, not for the one who hurt them.

In the course of this message, many realized how they had been deceived by the enemy. At the end of the message, 20 people excused themselves to the prayer room and asked God to give them the grace to forgive. They are now experiencing what it means to be truly free, to forgive as we have been forgiven.

"Blessed" is certainly the word to describe Sunday morning at Grace Church in Morton, Illinois. The Spirit of the Lord was in attendance that day, and with Him came freedom.

What else might God have in store for this church? We look forward to hearing firsthand, in a few nights, the testimonies of what God is doing in people's lives.
