In spite of much spiritual opposition, we had a wonderful Fall Family Camp last week.
Fall Family Camp follows the pattern of our Summer Family Camps: morning and evening sessions for parents, while children meet in Happy Heart City and Base Camp, and teens split off into sessions geared to them. Speaker Steve Hammack and his wife, Donna, led the times in God's Word, centering the studies around the theme Authentic.
Afternoons offer some free time, as well as organized family activities planned by our program staff. Guests enjoyed dressing up as lumberjacks one day for "Lumber Jack and Jill," competing in lumberjack-type contests, and enjoying an extra special meal.
Breakaway Night gives moms and dads some time off from the non-stop job of parenting. Our staff keep the children and let the grownups have some down time. Parents really appreciate all the help THE CREW gives them during the week.

(If you have young people age fourteen and older who would be interested in working our summer or fall CREW next year, please click here.)
Thirteen families experienced physical rest and spiritual renewal during this time. Here's what a couple of our guests wrote about the week.
From a mom: "I cannot express with words what a blessing it has been to be here this week! The staff and other campers have enveloped me in God's love. It's hard to keep back the tears as I write this. I thank my heavenly Father for providing this week of camp for the kids and me. It has been comforting to be away from home but in a place that feels like home ... if that makes sense! This is a safe place to be open, honest, and vulnerable with my brothers and sisters in Christ. Thank you."
From a dad: "This was a wonderful experience for the whole family. I would definitely recommend this camp to others. My wife and I learned some things about each other that fourteen years of marriage did not reveal. We are communicating again. I am excited to see where this will lead."
Please ask God to continue to remind families of lessons learned and fun memories formed at Family Camp. Pray that He will continue to unite these families with one heart to follow God!
