A hungry heart is a magnificent thing. Jesus said, "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied" (Matthew 5:6). This is a promise of fulfillment to those who will examine their current spiritual state and long for something more.

Nearly 200 ladies gathered this week for the True Woman Ladies' Luncheon in Morton, Illinois. This time is geared toward bringing nourishment to hungry hearts and creating an even deeper hunger.

Debby Canfield has a desire to see women of all ages fed with truth from God's Word. She passionately shared what it means to be a godly woman. Speaking out of her experiences and what she has learned through the years, she posed a simple question to those in attendance: "Are you a cactus, or are you a magnet?" In other words, "Are you someone others find it hard to be close to, or are people drawn to you?"

It's a matter of joy. In times of crisis and hard circumstances, when you face discouragement, do you live in the realization that God never changes, that He still cares, and that ultimately this life is not about us? As Debby so well stated, "My purpose in life is not to be happy, but to bring God glory; and in that, I find my joy."

How do I get on a newsletter list, or become part of a group as this. I am hungry for more of the word and my local churches are not satisfying me.
