Ministry Prayer Calendar

"All who call on God in true faith, earnestly from the heart, will certainly be heard, and will receive what they have asked and desired, although not in the hour or in the measure, or the very thing which they ask. Yet they will obtain something greater and more glorious than they had dared to ask."
- Martin Luther

Pray

1
Today and tomorrow, Byron Paulus, Del Fehsenfeld, Nancy Leigh DeMoss, Steve Canfield, and B. G. Allen will hold their annual Senior Leadership Team meetings. Please pray for wisdom and discernment as they seek to lead this ministry according to God's will.

2 This month, our ministry's theme is "Walking by Faith." We want to be a people whose faith pleases God (Heb. 11:6). Pray that we will trust God's character and power so that we will act on the principles of His Word and experience the supernatural.

3 Intercede for countries that do not have the freedoms we have in America. Ask God to bring them religious and spiritual freedom.

4 As we celebrate our nation's great freedoms today, praise the Lord for His sovereign and gracious protection, provision, and guidance over our country in the past and present.

5 Trent Griffith will be speaking to families at the Life Action Camp this week. Please pray that God will give him discernment, wisdom, and grace as he ministers. Pray that the families will powerfully sense Christ's love through his messages and through each staff member serving them.

6 Pray that many women will hear about and register to attend the upcoming True Woman conferences this fall. We are praying for 9,000 women in Indianapolis, Indiana, September 23-25 and for 12,000 women in Ft. Worth, Texas, October 14-16.

7 Pray that God will miraculously create within lost people an intense thirst for eternal and spiritual things this summer, and that He'll put His children in their lives to lead them to Christ.

8 Our annual financial audit begins today. Please support our accounting team and auditors in prayer as they work on this big project over the next two weeks.

9 Praise the Lord for Ray and Wanda Canfield, a retired couple who work hard at our camp on the grounds and in the office all year. Ask God to bless them in a significant and special way as they have so blessed us.

10 "Everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith" (1 John 5:4). Pray that God will increase the faith of His followers so that more evil will be overcome in our world.

11 Today, pre-summit meetings are being held at First Baptist Church in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Ask God to call this congregation to deep spiritual revival and awakening as they prepare to host one of our teams this year.

12 The sixth week of Family Camp begins this evening, with Jimmy Herdklotz (Camp Director) as the main speaker. Ask God to energize the camp staff and refresh the guests physically and spiritually. May He accomplish lasting results for His glory!

13 A Pastors' Retreat is taking place this week at The Lodge. Pray that the staff will be strengthened and the pastoral couples encouraged.

14
Pray for the ongoing effects of the True Woman Manifesto, a document Revive Our Hearts will be challenging women to sign at the close of the True Woman conferences.

15 Jon Glick, one of our IT technicians, has been having a lot of mold and termite problems with his family's home. Please ask God to quickly and efficiently resolve these problems so that the family may be together once again.

16 Thank God that He sought you by His grace and gave you the gift of faith to believe in His Son Jesus for your eternal salvation (Ephesians 2:8).

17 Intercede today for Christians around the world to cry out for the Holy Spirit to fill them, as He longs to do, and to use them for God's glory (Luke 11:13).

18 Conducting pre-summit meetings today, Wilson Green is speaking at First Baptist Church in Sulphur, Louisiana, and John Myers is speaking at Old Town Baptist Church in Winston Salem, North Carolina. Please pray that God will anoint the messages and send revival to these churches.

19 Steve Canfield will be speaking at Family Camp this week. Please cover him and Debby in prayer as they discern what God would have for the families and as they seek to live out Christ's life before others.

20
Mike and Trina Crescenzi have diligently served with Life Action for ten years. Praise the Lord for this sweet couple, and ask Him to abundantly provide for their needs in ways they couldn't imagine.

21 A Romantic Reflections marriage retreat for pastoral couples ends today at The Lodge. Pray that these couples will leave with a greater love for each other and for Jesus.

22 Ask God to give Nancy Leigh DeMoss clarity as she seeks the Lord regarding overall program direction for the two upcoming True Woman conferences.

23 A special Donor Appreciation Weekend begins at The Lodge today. Please ask God to bless and refresh the attendees as well as give them a greater burden for revival.

24 This coming year's road team members are preparing to arrive in Michigan soon from many parts of the country, some as returning and some as new team members. Pray for safety and grace as they make this transition.

25 Pray that our churches will become Word-centered: "For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart" (Hebrews 4:12). God's Word alone can change lives, churches, and nations!

26 This summer's final week of Family Camp begins today! Please pray that everyone will have an enjoyable, safe time, and pray for Del Fehsenfeld to boldly speak forth what God lays on his heart.

27 Please pray that God will supply capital improvement funds for The Lodge as well as a full-time staff couple to help with cooking and guest services.

28 Andrew Murray has said, "Faith in a prayer-hearing God will make a prayer-loving Christian." Today, pray for all Christians to believe God more and pray more, which will impact God's work in this world.

29 Praise the Lord that He is your shield and that you do not have to fear man or protect yourself. "But you are a shield around me, O LORD; ... I will not fear the tens of thousands drawn up against me on every side" (Ps. 3:3, 6).

30 Earnestly pray for pastors across our land to stay close to God by reading and meditating on His Word, and by praying and obeying. Only out of deep fellowship with Christ can they effectively lead His people.

31 Life Action's 40th Staff Training for new and returning road team members begins today. Please pray that everyone will adjust well and will quickly absorb the necessary material during this intense period.

Live

God's number one tool to make us more Christlike is suffering—pressures, struggles, trials, temptations. Through these our dependence on Him increases, weaning us off of our self-sufficiency. The more we cling to His promises and cry out for His help, the more we will see Him wisely work on our behalf. This will grow our faith in God's goodness and sovereignty, increasing our obedience to Him and our eternal happiness.

"It is commendable if a man bears up under the pain of unjust suffering because he is conscious of God.... To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example" (1 Pet. 2:19, 21).

"For a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory, and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed" (1 Pet. 1:6-7).

Give

During our summits, we teach about giving, because it flows from God's heart of love, as John 3:16 so aptly illustrates: "God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son." Our giving also reflects much about our own hearts, since "where your treasure is, there your heart will be also" (Matt. 6:21).

Before I give any of my material possessions to God, He first wants me to give Him myself (2 Cor. 8:5). Here are some helpful questions you can ask yourself in this area:

  • Have I ever fully given myself to God?
  • Have I completely surrendered my will, desires, needs, goals, and plans to God?
  • Is there any area of my life I have not yielded to God—relationships, position, reputation, recognition, finances, future?
  • Do I sometimes find it easier to give my material possessions than to give myself
