Praying For Another Divine Moment

Thank you for praying last week for our annual Vision Gathering in Austin! God worked powerfully in hearts. As someone remarked, there were a few moments where God was there with a great measure of His presence. Nothing sensational. Just the acute awareness of Him. Perhaps even a "divine" moment. Divine moments are movement-making moments.
One Divine Moment
Robert Coleman's classic book on the Asbury Revival is entitled One Divine Moment. In it he describes an amazing but true summary of what God did:
One cold wintry day, students at a small Kentucky college went to their weekly chapel service. 185 hours later they emerged, changed beyond their wildest dreams.
Right now, beginning this Sunday, and every day for the following eleven days, we must seek the Lord for some divine moments, or hours, or days. Why? Because every day until Wednesday (March 31), thousands of people are going to a major revival event, and if God shows up with His manifest presence, they can emerge changed beyond their wildest dreams! And since movements of revival often spread on the wings of testimonies, there is no limit to what God can do through these gatherings:
THIRST Conference - Begins Sunday morning at Moody Church - 2500+
True Woman '10 - Launches in Chattanooga Thursday - 2200+
Heartcry Southeast (TN) - Next Sunday through Wednesday 5000+
Right now . . .
There are several reasons I believe there has never been a more opportune time to be investing in the message and mission of revival. I shared these at the Vision Gathering retreat and, without significant commentary, here they are:
Right now . . . people are turning . . . somewhere.
Right now . . . people are listening . . . intently.
Right now . . . people are responding . . . deeply.
Right now . . . the window is open and opening . . . widely.
Right now . . . Life Action is one of the strongest voices calling for revival . . . by His grace alone.
Whether Chicago or Southeast TN, people are turning to government, tea parties, Glenn Beck, entertainment (record box office sales this past year), and a host of other substitutes. But they are turning! They are turning because they are looking for answers. We need to pray, "Turn us again unto You, O Lord."
Our Message Team is noting that the percentage of people coming out night after night to services is escalating. And they are hanging onto every word. They are listening and looking for insight into how they can find hope and help.
The depth of response can often be measured by the eagerness to verbalize what God has done. The level of being H.O.T. (Honest, Open, and Transparent) is growing. And even though it is not always best to tell the whole world what God has done, the very fact that people don't care if the whole world knows is indicative of lowering pride and elevating humility. Depth can even be measured by willingness to sacrifice. A church of 315 attendance gave the largest love offering (not just to Life Action) of any church in the history of our ministry. Quite remarkable.
The window of opportunities for LAM is opening widely. Our teams are scheduled further out into the future than any time in recent history ... and seemingly in more strategic locations. There are radio stations wanting to air ROH (for a cost), and The Camp is experiencing fresh opportunities to touch the hearts of families. Revive magazine is having renewed impact, and someone in India has proposed a strategic plan for its distribution as a major training tool.
By God's grace alone Life Action has one of the strongest voices for revival in our nation, if not the world. That is a privilege. BUT it is not nearly as LOUD as is needed to meet the NEED of the hour. Volume is controlled by amplification ... and the Word of God accompanied by the Spirit of God produces divine amplification ... the kind that results in divine moments ... movement-making moments.
Would you join me in praying between now and March 31 for another Divine Moment? A movement-making moment?
