Broken Addictions

The following are real-life stories of God at work in the lives of pastors and leaders. We praise the Lord for the way he is restoring lives through Life Action's outreaches.

• God found me a very calloused and selfish person. I wanted the Holy Spirit to work in my life, but I wouldn't let Him because of three years of unconfessed moral sin. After God broke me to pieces through His Word being brought to our church by Life Action, I confessed to God, my wife, and my accountability group. What a liberating movement,
and I feel the Holy Spirit like never before!

• I know eating disorders are a sin, but they have taken over my life. Now after this week, God has spoken to me so clearly and personally that I truly believe with time, prayer, and commitment, I will overcome this horrible demon that has taken fifteen years of my life!

• God found me complacent in a web of sin, despair, and lies. I was consistently falling in the area of purity through pornography and fornication. I was confronted with my sin by God, and I repented. God revealed the strongholds and things that have to change in order to be victorious in my Christian walk. I will begin to take advantage of the accountability and people God has placed in my life.

• Many times I ran to drugs, sex, alcohol, and anything else that I thought would fill a void in my life. My thirst was never quenched. I was at a point in my life where I had all that I needed but still found myself wanting more—until this team came and shared with me why I was always thirsty for more. Life Action, thank you for opening my heart to the "well" of the Lord.
