"Grace and love, like mighty rivers,
Poured incessant from above;
And Heaven’s peace and perfect justice
Kissed a guilty world in love."
— from “Here Is Love,
Vast As the Ocean”
1 Laine Johnson and the Red Team finish their current summit this Sunday at Eternity Baptist Church in Centralia, Illinois. Pray for people to continue to respond obediently to God’s Word.
2 Steve Canfield and the Blue Team conclude their last summit of the year this Sunday at First Baptist Church in Trenton, Ohio. Ask God to continue His deep work in this congregation.
3 Our staff is asking God to provide $800,000 for our year-end ministry needs. Please pray that He would prompt individuals and groups to help cover this completely.
4 Most of Life Action’s home-based staff raise their own funds to serve with our ministry, and some who have served for many years are finding it challenging to maintain enough support to live on due to the aging of many of their faithful donors. Pray that God would provide for their needs.
5 Allen Mazelin is our Chief Financial Officer and the Division Director of our Service Ministries Division. Please pray for Allen as he oversees our ministry’s financial matters and the other departments that service Life Action’s outreaches.
6 Our three road teams are all on winter break before beginning their 2011 meetings in churches across our nation. Pray that the families and team members will experience refreshing spiritual growth while they are physically recharging.
7 Pray today for Diane, Debbie, Heather Beth, and other ladies who serve as receptionists at our National Ministry Center, warmly welcoming those who visit and call our offices.
8 Jimmy Herdklotz is the Director of the Life Action Camp ministry. Cover him and his wife, Lori, and their family of boys with your prayers today.
9 Life Action Ministries plans and helps support annual retreats designed to expose pastors and leaders to a vision for revival and what God may want to do in our nation. Pray for wisdom and practical expertise for those who help facilitate these events (Vision Gathering, Heart-Cry for Revival Conference, etc.).
10 Pray for Nancy Leigh DeMoss and the Revive Our Hearts staff as they record several radio programs today for future broadcasts. Also pray for the ongoing construction project of a new recording studio at our National Ministry Center in Michigan to facilitate ROH’s ministry.
11 Please remember Phillip and Michele Wilson and their family in prayer today. As Byron Paulus’ Executive Assistant, Phillip provides critical support to Byron.
12 Logistical challenges made our Revival Conference Team’s entry into Canada a bit rough this fall, but once the team members and vehicles were across the border and on site, God proceeded to work greatly in the three churches. Pray that effective ministry will continue to grow out of this autumn’s time of revival.
13 Revive Our Hearts staff and guest speakers had the opportunity for face-to-face ministry to over 12,300 women this year at three True Woman ’10 events, held in Chattanooga, Indianapolis, and Ft. Worth. Pray that God’s Spirit continues to deeply work in these women and their families and friends, producing life-changing results for His kingdom.
14 Pray today for the Revive Our Hearts leadership team, that God would give them clear and specific direction for ministry as 2011 draws near.
15 The LifeAction.org website hosts the Revive Media Channel (listed under Revival Resources on the top toolbar), which features archives of many important videos by various speakers on revival topics. Pray that those who visit our website will take time to watch these important messages and be encouraged and changed by God’s Spirit as a result.
16 B. G. Allen serves as the Chief of Staff and Chief Administrative Officer for Life Action and is a member of our Senior Leadership Team. He is responsible for our leadership teams, leadership development, organizational effectiveness, and strategic planning. Please pray for B. G. and his wife, Angela, and their daughters Lauren and Keely today.
17 Chuck and Jodie Deinum joined the Life Action Camp staff this year. Pray that God will provide for and protect their family as they serve with our rapidly growing camp outreach.
18 Pray for wisdom for the Life Action Camp leadership as they formulate and carry out plans for ever-increasing ministry to more and more families.
19 Paula Hendricks writes the Revive Our Hearts website blog, which gives many women across the country an opportunity to share what God is doing in their lives. Pray for continued Word-centeredness, wisdom, and creativity for Paula as she writes.
20 Ask God to send our way ministry invitations from churches, pastors, individuals, families, and other organizations, as He desires.
21 Our leadership needs daily wisdom from God to recognize resources, currently untapped by us, that He may want us to use to develop the message of revival. Ask God to help our staff recognize potential provision from many different sources for the outreaches He has initiated through our ministry.
22 Cover Mike Lee, Life Action Camp’s Operations Director, and his family with prayer today as they continue to influence many families year-round through the Camp’s family-oriented programs.
23 Pray today for the editorial staff of Revive magazine, that God would direct their thoughts and plans regarding topics and effective means of communicating as they write, edit, and publish.
24 Our home-based staff faithfully serve in technical behind-the-scenes capacities. Pray that God will also give them opportunities to share the gospel of Christ one-on-one with vendors and others they meet in the course of their daily lives.
25 Thank God with us for the advent of His Son, Jesus, the living Word who conveys God’s grace and salvation to a guilty world, with love.
26 Two of the resources Life Action makes available to churches to help them experience ongoing personal and corporate revival are the devotional study book Seeking Him and the electronic 30-Day Revival Journey. Pray that those visiting our LifeAction.org website will click on the sidebar topic “Personal Growth” and discover and use these powerful tools.
27 Cover Collegiate Impact’s Dave Warn and Wesley Bullard in prayer today as they seek ways to facilitate campus transformation through God’s Spirit.
28 The editorial and design staff of the Heartcry Journal (Del, Kim, Tom, and Aaron) would appreciate your prayers for their team as they prepare upcoming editions of this publication, which is geared to help pastors.
29 We welcome Tom and Roz Sullivan, new staff members at The Lodge, who help serve the pastors and others who come as our guests. Their children Andrei and Sarah also volunteer their skills. Pray for them today.
30 Tom Harmon ministers at the Life Action Camp’s Resolution Retreat today through Saturday. Pray for a fresh work of God’s Spirit in the lives of the families attending.
31 Several of our staff wives and other volunteers take on the task of personally, specifically praying for requests sent in to Life Action Ministries and Revive Our Hearts. Ask God to help these intercessors effectively and faithfully continue to carry the burdens of others to His throne of grace.
Live
Vital to every generation are those who walk by faith in God’s Word and His plan for their times. At Life Action we take very seriously the teaching that “the righteous shall live by faith” (Galatians 3:11). Our teams carry out this principle as they travel to churches nationwide, staying in the homes of church members and trusting God to provide their daily food and various other needs through those to whom they minister. This practice is based on Jesus sending out His disciples (Mark 6:7-12) with instructions to travel lightly, stay as long as they were welcome, and proclaim His message.
Consider people living at the time of Christ’s nativity who are recorded in Scripture as walking by faith: Zechariah (though slow to believe Gabriel’s news of John’s birth, he did believe and obey eventually), Elisabeth, Mary, Joseph, the shepherds, Anna, Simeon, the Magi. What a gift these “faith-walkers” were to their generation, helping to usher in the times that prophets before them longed to see, and the days of grace that our generation enjoys.
How will you walk by faith in your generation?
Give
Have you ever had the joy of giving a gift that requires great faith? Perhaps you have given to someone else at a time when your own resources were depleted; or maybe you gave a special gift from resources not usually available to you.
Was there a time you gave something very precious to you to someone who had a greater need for it? Have there been times you asked God to provide something specific so you could then give to another’s specific need? There is great joy in giving out of resources we possess. But a deeper perspective comes when we purpose to give from what we don’t yet have, trusting God to supply in the future.
If you have never given out of faith (the substance of things not yet seen), what better way to finish 2010 than to put this principle into practice? This will also set a precedent for your giving in years to come.
