"Whether we like it or not, asking is the rule of the Kingdom. If you may have everything by asking in His Name, and nothing without asking, I beg you to see how absolutely vital prayer is."
- C. H. Spurgeon
As we launch into 2010, please make it your goal to persevere in faith and earnest prayer for heaven-sent revival and spiritual awakening in our nation and world this year. As the darkness deepens, Christ's light can shine even more brilliantly!
With many making New Year's resolutions, pray that God would direct your mind and theirs to His priorities and kingdom purposes more than ever before. May we all be sensitive and obedient to His Spirit's voice.
Pray for our nation's pastors today. Ask God to convict them of any known or secret sins. Pray that they would be broken—humble, transparent, obedient men of God before their congregations and families so God can bless with His presence and power.
As our staff returns to work from the holidays, pray that God will give them fresh focus, fervency, and faithfulness in whatever tasks He has called them to. Without Him, truly we can do nothing (John 15:5).
During these perilous times for our country's freedoms, pray that Christians would courageously stand and fight for righteousness and truth, not giving in to the fear of man.
Praise God that Christ came to save not only the Jews but also the Gentiles. What an undeserved and marvelous honor to be a part of His eternal family!
As our road teams return to ministry from their Christmas breaks, pray that they will clothe themselves with Christ's humility as they minister to thousands in churches across our country this winter and spring.
Byron Paulus, Life Action's executive director, leaves today to get away to seek the Lord's wisdom and direction and to visit close ministry friends and partners. Please pray that God will guide his steps and refresh him as he spends time with others and with Jesus.
Jeff Garr has served in various roles with Life Action for 14 years, and he currently serves as The Lodge's assistant director. Pray that God will richly bless him and his wife, Cheryl, as they strive to be servant leaders to those they come in contact with. Please also pray that God will greatly use The Lodge this year to help leaders rest and renew their passion for Spirit-empowered ministry.
Today there are three pre-summits taking place: JR Rohrman at Pathway Baptist Church in Calvert, Kentucky; Mike Lee at Central Baptist Church in Magnolia, Arkansas; and Lane Gordon at First Baptist Church in Sylvester, Georgia. Pray that God will encourage these churches with the hope of revival and give them a desperate longing for Jesus.
The Blue Team, with Steve Canfield and Jeremiah Canfield, began a 15-day summit yesterday at Heritage Baptist Church in Lynchburg, Virginia. Pray that God's Spirit will move powerfully and renew these people for His honor and glory.
Today the Revival Conference Team begins their third day of a 4-day THIRST conference at Wayside Baptist Church in Miami, Florida. Pray that God will ignite the congregation to believe Him for amazing things in their midst as they consecrate themselves to Him (Joshua 3:5).
About 30 of our home-based staff usually meet on Wednesday mornings before the workday begins for leadership training. Please ask the Lord to guide and speak through those leading the sessions.
Ask the Lord to begin giving women a hunger and thirst to know Him more, a longing for the beauty and wonder of true womanhood, and a desire to join a counter-cultural movement of reformation and revival among Christian women.
As this new year begins, please pray that our country's leaders will humble themselves before the Lord and seek Him for the many important decisions they have to make.
Intercede today for America's young people, from children to teenagers to college students. Ask God to grip their hearts with the reality of eternity, the brevity of life, and a longing for Jesus to redeem them from sin.
As the Revival Conference Team begins a 4-day THIRST conference today at Living Word Church in New Port Richey, Florida, pray that God's hand will be on the team as they speak, sing, and minister to His people during this time.
While our country honors Martin Luther King, Jr., today for leading the civil rights movement, pray that God will raise up men and women of strong, godly character who will lead our country in justice and peace for the glory of God.
Pray that the Lord would continue giving wisdom and guidance to Life Action's division directors as they coordinate their departments' operations.
Today the Red Team finishes an 11-day summit at Indiana Avenue Baptist Church in La Follette, Tennessee. Pray that the Lord's work in the people's hearts would be long-lasting and that they will faithfully apply and share the revival truths learned.
Pray for True Woman's marketing and promotions team as they strive to contact many churches within driving distance of the various conference locations. They would love to see these churches bring large groups to the conferences.
The Collegiate Impact team will be speaking and ministering at the Virginia Military Academy's Sacred Assembly tomorrow through Monday. Pray that God will anoint Dave Warn and Sunu Thomas with His words, and pray that the Holy Spirit will convict and bring a godly sorrow leading to repentance among many of this prestigious academy's cadets.
Today is Life Action Camp's first Father/Daughter Day, which includes an afternoon session and activities in addition to their traditional banquet. Pray that God will use this time to draw the hearts of fathers and daughters closer to each other and to their heavenly Father.
John Myers is speaking today during pre-summit meetings at Hampton Road Baptist Church in Desoto, Texas. Pray that God will begin reviving the hearts of His people there.
For over 25 years, Sandra Hawkins has faithfully served as Byron Paulus's executive secretary. Please ask the Lord to refresh and encourage her as she seeks to glorify Him.
The Red Team began a summit on Sunday at Hernando Baptist Church in Hernando, Mississippi. As they continue through February 3, pray that God will strongly use Laine Johnson and Wilson Green to lead this congregation in seeking Him.
As the Revival Conference Team concludes a THIRST conference today at Spring Hill Baptist Church in Spring Hill, Florida, pray that the people will not leave unchanged.
Pray for the Revive Our Hearts staff as they oversee all the administrative planning and preparation for the three True Woman '10 conferences, while also carrying other significant responsibilities.
Wesley and Gina Bullard are a sweet couple who have served with Life Action for almost 9 years. Pray that God would give them abundant grace, strength, and wisdom in rearing their five young children.
Please intercede for the True Woman conference speakers as they study and prepare messages, that the Lord will anoint each one.
Today the Blue Team begins a 15-day summit at Longview Heights Baptist Church in Olive Branch, Mississippi. Pray that God will give them strength, humility, and joy as they speak His truth into the lives of His people.
