Risking Prison for a Clear Conscience

I attended the Life Action summit these past few weeks at my church, and God got a hold of my heart. A few months before I became a Christian (4 1/2 years ago), a few of my friends and I did several thousand dollars worth of vandalism at my school just weeks before graduation. I remember the school saying that they were going to find who did it and prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law. This has been haunting me for the past five years—not that I would get caught, but I had a guilty ...

Air Force One, Presidential Motorcade, and “Fighting” Irish

I have been debating whether or not to comment on the controversial visit of President Obama to Notre Dame last Sunday. Spirit of Conviction Followed by Obedience

One of our staff revivalists, who has experienced more than 30 years of seeing God work mightily in churches across our nation, recently wrote the following: Sunday was one of the most incredible mornings I have ever seen. We preached four separate services, attended by a total of 1200 adults and teens. In every service there was a spirit of conviction and receptivity that was followed by obedience. Over 100 people asked for prayer concerning genuine salvation, and over 80 of them went to the prayer room to meet with God. Many of those were hopefully converted. We have never ...

What Would Abraham Lincoln Do?

What will President Obama do this Thursday? What would Abraham Lincoln do? This Thursday is the annual National Day of Prayer.

The new administration will issue a NDOP proclamation, which every president has done since 1952 in accordance with a bill President Harry Truman signed into law.

But, for the first time in many years, our current president has decided not to host a prayer event at the White House or to personally participate in any National Day of Prayer scheduled activities. He is not the only president who has refused to engage with the solidly Christian (mostly evangelical) events ...

May 2009

“We have become too proud to pray to the God that made us! It behooves us, then to humble ourselves before the offended Power, to confess our national sins, and to pray for clemency and forgiveness.”  – President Abraham Lincoln, National Day of Prayer 1863 1 During Life Action summit meetings in churches across America, much prayer and deliberate preparation is put into Base Camp and Happy Heart City, the nightly children’s clubs. Pray with us that God would move deeply on the children’s hearts during this time, giving them a biblical perspective of Himself.
2 Steve Canfield, Steven ...
