When God's Spirit is at work in a congregation, He not only speaks to corporate issues, but He also deals very personally, specifically, and lovingly in individual hearts. One of the evidences of this work is people's willingness to be honest, to tell others what God is confronting and how He has found us out.

Following are phrases shared in current Life Action summits, written by church members who are being truthful, repentant, and willing for God's power change them. Can you identify with any of these?

"I need to be a mother who models God's grace to her children."

"Christ was not the center of every area in my life."

"[I need to] allow people to be a joy instead of a job."

"I've been doing things on my own. I realize I am a proud man. God has shown me that I need to return to my first love. I surrender!"

"I have great anger and impatience with my six-year-old son. I become so bitter towards him that I pull away my affection."

"God found me in deep hypocrisy, jealousy, and lying."

"God has shown me . . . I have worshiped people, music, self, and not Him. I surrender. I need Him."

"I have been trying to manage the stress [of my spouse's illness] on my own."

"I am reaping the harvest of rebellion and disobedience."

"I am very self-sufficient."

"I am praying now for [God's] forgiveness of my pride and arrogance."

"God [revealed] to me through this revival my weakness, my stubbornness, my pride."

"The fruit sin of my life is frustration--the root sin of my life is vanity. I have been more concerned about measuring up to the expectations of others and not fully cooperating with God."

"He is showing me that I need Him to make the changes I am seeking with finances and relationships. His grace is sufficient, but I have not availed myself of it because of pride that says, 'I'm okay; it will all work out eventually.'"
