The economic downturn could be an unprecedented opportunity for widespread revival, as people get serious about seeking God!
That's why I'm excited about the mission of Life Action Ministries this season. We are seeing more interest in revival than at any other time in our 37-year history. Churches that prior to the economic crisis were struggling to get people interested in one extra service on a weekend are now eager to set aside protracted times for renewal and revival.
By Gods grace we want to respond by being fully prepared both spiritually and financially for ministry in 2009. With that in mind, many have been asking me how Life Action is doing financially. In summary, as of today:
-
We have paid all our bills to date, with no outstanding invoices.
-
We have not borrowed funds, and we have no debt.
-
We have put a freeze on all non-essential spending since early October. This included eliminating our annual award-winning calendar and several other important projects.
-
Most of our staff are self-funded missionaries, so we have not yet had to lay off any staff.
-
We have a plan to implement drastic cut-backs that will force us to curtail direct ministry, but we are praying this will not be necessary.
Like most ministries, year-end giving accounts for nearly 40% of our annual contributions. Simply put, the level of donations received this month will determine the scope of our outreach in 2009.
Would you prayerfully consider investing with us during this season that is ripe for revival? Now more than ever, what we need in our nation is something only God can do!
Thank you for sharing together in our vision for revival in America.
Passionate for His glory!
